World Council of Hindus UK (Vishwa Hindu Parishad UK) is proud to celebrate the occasion of HM the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee by offering prayers in all its branches on behalf of the British Hindus. Special rites, called Havan, a dedication to invoke auspicious blessings of the Agni Dev Surya, will be performed to grant her good health in order to guide the nation in these very difficult times we are living in. Many Hindu Mandirs are also holding these auspicious prayers.

In Consonant with Universal Hindu Values: Her Majesty commands respect in the Commonwealth and the rest of the world through her values and high diplomatic skills which emulate Universal Hindu Values of Peace and Fraternity, as depicted in the well-known principles of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakama (World is One Family) & Ekam Sat Vipraha Bahudavadanti (Truth is One, but given different names at various times in human history by spiritual leaders). Over the years she has overseen Britain evolving as a multifaceted mosaic tapestry of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity, very much in consonant with the eternal Hindu Values.

Her Majesty has been represented on many Hindu events such as the Hindu Sangam held on Bradford University campus in 1984 (attendance 10,000) and the Virat Hindu Sammelan held in Milton Keynes in 1989 (attendance 120,000), which are both historic milestones for British Hindus.

At a Buckingham Palace Luncheon in 1993, she expressed her great admiration of SEWA International for its work ethics to the International Trustee of World Council of Hindus, who was invited to represent British Hindus. She was also concerned about the rising tide of terrorism and extremism in the world.

Under her guidance, in 1972 the East African Hindus were welcomed when they were unceremoniously expelled from these countries. In equal measure these Hindus, and others from around the world, have proved worthy by their immeasurable loyalty and contribution to the UK, their country of adoption, in terms of cultural diversity, economic, educational, and professional prowess. At the same time maintaining law & order to the highest order.

Reconciliation with Diplomatic Grace: With extensive diplomatic skills at her command, she averted the near breakup of the Commonwealth in 1979 during the African Nations crisis of Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), when she persuaded the British Government to listen to the voice of reason of self-respecting African Leaders. And again in 1991, she gracefully helped to de-construct the draconian apartheid regime of South Africa, empowering the release of African nationalist leader Nelson Mandela. She was the prime mover towards reconciliation in the Commonwealth, which was the need of the hour. In both these crisis, Hindus of these respective regions played a pivotal role.

Jallianwala Bag,: HM Queen, who was touring India in 1997 with the Late Duke of Edinburgh to mark 50 years of its independence, visited the symbol of Martyrdom Park in Amritsar, the Jallianwala Bag, to pay her respects to the martyred men, women and children who died in the genocide of the worst kind of Sikhs and Hindus in human history. She is a great advocate of reconciliation and mending of the wrong doing. British Hindus and Sikhs are hopeful that one day soon the British Government will follow in her footsteps and offer an official apology for this historical wrong doing.

HM The Queen of Britain is the most gracious and well known Stateswoman and inspirer of our times, possessing considerable diplomatic skills of the highest order. She is the longest serving Monarch in the World today, commanding respect from every corner of the globe.

British Hindus pray to Bhagwan Shree Rama for Her Majesty’s very good health, long & peaceful life.

Jai Shree Rama

  1. I’m.proud to be a Brtish Hindu saluting HM The Queen for 70 years of unfettered service to the nation and great example to all

  2. Yes congrats for your Jubilee but the British government should unreservedly apologise for the attrocities , genocide and persecution of Indians much of which was done in the name of the Monarchy. Let us not also forget unlawful occupation of Ireland and the attrocities committed against innocent Irish peoples who
thus have a lot in common with Indians.

  3. Is it not shameful that some Indians in UK are shamelessly accepting Member of British Empire award (MBE) from monarchy in UK after so much brutality done to their peoples in days of and under British Empire. When will they learn? British government should rename suvh awards to something more appropriate.
