Delhi: Congress workers assault Kashmiri Muslim for accusing Rahul Gandhi, opposition of misleading nation over EVM, Election Commission; demanding an apology for PM Modi, Amit Shah.

He was assaulted in Connaught Place.

On 8th October (Thursday), a young Kashmiri man, identified as Faheem Nazir, was assaulted by Congress members in Delhi’s Connaught Place under the guise of abusing Rahul Gandhi. He dismissed the charges and stated that he does not belong to any political outfit. He also asserted to be a fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The incident happened during a lunch event organised by Congress for opposition MPs.

According to reports, he waved a poster and shouted slogans in support of PM Modi while opposing the Gandhi scion, which first led to an argument with the party workers, who then proceeded to assault him in front of the media. His poster was also torn apart as he demanded an apology from the Leader of the Opposition to PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Nazir, who is from Srinagar, talked to the media after the incident and challenged the claims of electoral irregularities, remarking, “EVMs were introduced during the tenure of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1989. Elections were subsequently held using EVMs in 2004 and 2009, when the Congress emerged victorious. Was the Election Commission of India a thief then?”

“Today, when PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are repeatedly winning elections, the same EVMs are being called faulty, and allegations of electoral theft are being levelled. The ECI is being labelled a thief. I am here to protest against this,” he expressed.

The Kashmiri youth then refuted the allegations against him and added, “I did not misbehave in any way, and I never used any abusive language. You have it captured on your cameras how I was beaten up. Just show me one video in which I abused him, and I will apologise to him, these people and the entire country. I will not let this country become Nepal. I will not let this country become Sri Lanka. I will not let this country become Bangladesh.”

He further declared, “Every drop of blood in my body is for the nation. I am a fan of PM Modi because the decline of terrorism in the valley is a result of his policies. This has happened because of the Home Minister. Why could the Congress not achieve this in so many years? Why did it fail to stop cross-border firing and grenade attacks? The Modi government is working on the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”

A visibly distressed Nazir also pointed out, “Isn’t vote theft happening when the opposition wins elections,” as he questioned the protests launched by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), the opposition leaders and parliamentarians.

“Is this democracy? This is how you assault others. You have the footage. I did not abuse Rahul Gandhi, but they attacked me. I have taken up this initiative to make the country understand that there is a conspiracy to turn India into Nepal and Bangladesh. I am here because this is my responsibility as a citizen. Questions should be asked of Rahul Gandhi. Is this freedom of speech,” Nazir reiterated while a Congress worker aggressively tried to obstruct him during the interview.
