Cultural and commercial organisation JalTarang Ltd curated event Agni to support right to girl child education and women employment to the rural areas in Sundarban ,West Bengal.

Millions of women are on the brink of poverty 4.5 millions of women are out of school in rural India

Girls received average of less than 3 years education in rural India 45% drop out between Grade 1-Grade 5

The proportion of female teacher is very low .Sundarban ,remote village in West Bengal ,abode of famous Royal Bengal Tigers

Rural children lack amenities like transportation, electricity ,hygiene and healthcare There is no drinking water in school. Children walk 2 miles to the nearest tubewell.

Agni was charity dance party with lots of glitz and glamour but it served deeper purpose to spread smile to the life of children and women in mangrove forest Sundarban. Previously JalTarang has also supported acid attack survivors and Autism awareness through their cultural and commercial events. (BY:Paromita Goswami )
