Panaji: Goa Police on Thursday issued a notice to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, asking him to appear before it on April 27 in a case related to the illegal sticking of posters on public properties during the 2022 Assembly elections campaign.

Inspector Dilipkumar Halarnkar of Pernem police station issued the notice to Mr Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), under section 41 (A) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Under the section, police can summon a person for inquiry if there is “reasonable” complaint or suspicion that he had committed an offence.

“During the investigation of a case about defacement of property, it is revealed that there are reasonable grounds to question you to ascertain facts and circumstances from you in relation to the present investigation,” said the notice.

Mr Kejriwal should appear at the Pernem police station at 11 am on April 27, it said.

A senior police official said that Pernem police are investigating a case against the AAP registered under the Goa Prevention of Defacement of Property Act for allegedly pasting election posters on public walls during the Assembly campaign. (Press Trust of India)

  1. It is good to make India look beautiful but I remember when I used to travel from Amritar to Bombay. Both side of the train we used to see lot of advertising on walls and posters sticking on walls . Which used to look very ugly . but not only that people sitting and passing their waists along the railway lines. I do not know improvement is there on these matters or not. Modi government is only after the opposition leaders. I will fully support him if i can see the BJP party leaders are also investigated properly and their piltical culture is monitered and they are also punished. I can only pray God that it give wisdom to Indians to lead its country with good heart and wisdom.

  2. Kejrival is one of the most fraudulent new age politicians trying to capture ground lost by Congress using any means. His party got hiding in Gujarat where most sensible Indians vote the right party to govern our great country. No-one is above law and it is right to prosecute him in Goa if the posters gave his party unfair advantage
