Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (U.K.) (HSS (U.K.)) is proud to be an official partner and to host UK Parliament Week Activity to mark UK Parliament Week and ‘have your say’ on the issues that matter to you most.

UK Parliament Week is a UK-wide festival taking place from 2-8 November 2019, which aims to engage the entire population, including members of the Hindu, Jain, Buddhist and Sikh community. Particular focus is given to engaging young people from different backgrounds within the communities and empowering them to get involved.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a thriving democracy, ask questions, think critically and engage with the UK Parliament. Schools, museums, libraries, faith communities and youth organisations representing every constituency across the United Kingdom have already signed up to be part of the conversation.

HSS (U.K.) spokesperson said: “We are excited to join communities across the country getting involved in UK Parliament Week 2019 and getting more people in our branches (known as Shakhas) involved in playing a vital role in their democracy. From Sale in the North West to Bromley in the South, Southend in the East to Cheltenham in the West, over 24 branches will participate with a total of more than 720 participants. Debates, balloting, role playing, quizzes, Q & A with Members of Parliament, and Parliament education videos are some of the activities that will feature in our events. There may also be a few #UKPW themed Cup Cakes being featured! ”

“There are many exciting activities happening across the country as part of this year’s UK Parliament Week, with schools, workplaces and community groups using the week to have their say on the issues they care about most. This year’s UK Parliament Week will be the largest ever and we can’t wait to see all the fantastic activities that will be taking place.”

  1. This is great news especially when Hindus across the UK were dismayed by the protest marchers on the Diwali Day in London, at least they did not get to demonstrate in front of our High Commission. Our community doesn’t have to provide their worth (except in active politics unlike the Jewish) of giving back to this country whether in the field of science, medicine, commerce and enterprise as well abiding of Law. Look at any newspapers columns, talk show or statistics on crime, prisoners etc we are least mentioned as we do the right thing. HSS is shining light in the dark days of religious politics promoted by Corbyn’s momentum supported Labour Party. Come this election the Hindus will vote tactfully to ensure their rights are preserved
