UK Indian Community Bids Heartfelt Farewell to High Commissioner H.E. Vikram Doraiswami

London, UK 17/04/2026– The British Indian community came together to bid a warm and emotional farewell to their esteemed High Commissioner, His Excellency Vikram Doraiswami, and Mrs. Sangita Doraiswami ji, as they conclude their tenure in the United Kingdom.

The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Lord Rami Ranger and Sh. Surinder Gautama (President World Council of Hindus UK), Shashi Patel (OFF BJP), C.B.Patel of Gujrat Samachar alongside prominent community leaders and members of the vibrant Indian diaspora.

Mr. Doraiswami, who has now been appointed as India’s Ambassador to China, departs after a distinguished and impactful tenure in London. Arriving as diplomats, Vikram Ji and Sangita Ji leave as cherished members of the extended Indian diaspora family, having built deep and meaningful connections across the community.

Throughout his time in the UK, Mr. Doraiswami made a lasting impression on the nearly two million-strong Indian diaspora, fostering unity, cultural pride, and engagement. His tenure is notably marked by significant contributions to strengthening India–UK relations, including support for the landmark India–UK Free Trade Agreement, envisioned as a long-term economic bridge between the two nations.

His approachable leadership, commitment to public service, and dedication to enhancing bilateral cooperation have left an enduring legacy that will continue to benefit both countries.

The community extends its heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to Vikram Ji and Sangita Ji for continued success in their future endeavours.
