As the voting drew to a close reportedly with much higher turnout since 2017 election there was nail biting wait for the results. Will the country heed to Boris’s gamble of making this Brexit issue or Corbyn’s goody manifesto?
Well the truth is known and Conservatives won by a landslide, well over 326 seats required with a stonking majority of 80. Labour suffered humiliating defeat since 1935 in spite of their huge army of union members and of late, left wing supporters from Momentum who tried Stalinist campaign to unseat moderate MPs. Any average citizen would think that 2016 referendum to leave the EU was decisive enough albeit with small majority however since then we saw change of three PMs and our elected members wasted time discussing Brexit. Some left their own parties on principles, Corbyn sat on fence line after challenge from Boris to call an election.
The media in general is anti-Brexit with comedians having field day making jokes on any Brexiteer. Yes, there were national issues such as NHS, Housing, Education, Taxation and Social Security and all parties fudged the issue of how their electoral promises were to be funded. Anti-Semitism was well discussed issue and for the British Indians, anti-Hindu and anti-Indian stance taken by Labour meant losing voters. Indian groups from towns and cities across the country exchanged their anger on social media deciding not to support Labour due to their grave mistake of passing a motion in the conference against the Kashmir article 370, mainly fuelled by Pakistani origin Labour MPs. Conservatives quite rightly took a position that it was an internal matter.
Those who had voted Leave in the Labour constituencies up North had one particular reason, incessant immigration and jobs/housing taken away by new arrivals. Labour traditionally panders to immigrants not least to get votes, especially from their favourite religious group. One has to only look at the inner-city ghettos and places such as Newham, Ilford, Tower Hamlets, Birmingham etc. It is well known that home grown terrorism emanates from fundamentalists views propagated through some clerics who are sheltered in Labour held areas. Hence security must have played a part in voting intentions bearing in mind Corbyn’s disastrous record of terrorist sympathies, of late more so towards anything to do with Islam related.
So, the voters have rejected re-nationalisation, high tax, high spending, illegal immigration, a party with doubtful security record, a party who uses religion to get votes and instead gave majority to the Conservatives who they can trust. It is good news for the Indian diaspora not least as PM Modi will find Boris Johnson a natural ally in post-Brexit era.

Congratulations to Conservative party and Boris Johnson for winning the election with great Majority.Labour party leader should work hard to assemble labour party and make sure to elect new leader as soon as possible.It must not take more than 4 months. This time Hindus were very annoyed with the labour leader actions which made most of them not to vote for labour party. So be careful in future for passing resolutions which may damage the party.
