IIW INSPIRING INDIAN WOMEN, INDRADHANUSH KIDS ACADEMY and KAUSHALYA UK, supported by Janhanda Foundation Founder Srilal Dias from Sri Lanka, Zabardast Butterflies Founder Alamara Awan from Pakistan celebrated South Asian Heritage Month on 28th July.
His Worshipful Mayor Harrow Cllr Salim Chowdhury, Mayoress Mrs. Jesmin Chowdhury, Deputy Mayor Harrow Cllr Anjana Patel, Warrant Officer Ashok Kumar MBE, Alamara Awan Founder President Zabardast Butterflies Pakistan, Mr. Srilal Dias Founder Janhanda Foundation Sri Lanka, Sonoo Malkani, Poet Shashi Mathur, Cllr Prabhakar Kaza, Cllr Aditya Kaza were some of the guests who motivated the participants with their presence.
A unique show with performances from various countries made the celebrations outstanding. Some of the performers were Sushmita Sivan – Folk Dance from South India, Fusion Bharatanatyam by Nishka Badri and Anisha Badri, Manju Shah showcasing Nepali folk dance, Sri Lanka had three kinds of traditional Dance performance by little kids, one of which depicted Lion’s behaviour, Zoya from Afghanistan showcased traditional Afghani outfit, Sreya Sarkar presented Bengali folk, FUSION TAAL Indradhanush kids academy: kathak
‘FASHION SHOW FASHION SHOW – LET US STAND TOGETHER’ choreographed by Priyanka set the mood of the entire Unity in Diversity theme. Rest of the programme had Meghana Shah performing in rangilo Maro dholna song, 6.5 yrs. old little Iris Heenaba Pabot enacted Sword fighting, Pramod Sharma and group sang a Nepali song, Zabardast Butterflies organization from Pakistan presented Poetry by Atif and Song by Shazad, Pahadi women international led by Sudha Rawat showcased a beautiful dance from Uttarakhand, 7 yrs. old Yanah Dhakate (IndradhanushKids Academy) sang Jai Ganesh
Enchanting and beautiful dances were staged by Sega static Dancers from Mauritius led by (Soulma Hosany), Aryahi Kandukari presented Telegu Classical Kandian, sabaragamu displayed dance from the low-lying areas of Sri Lanka showcasing prayer dances invoking blessing to everybody in the world. Swapna Mukherjee Teen Taal Kathak Institute mesmerized everyone with her grace and lastly Bollymoves Dance Academy gave a perfect befitting finale to such a grand show which marked community cohesion.
This was also an opportunity for several small-scale women Entrepreneurs to sell. The team behind this extravaganza were Sunita Chaubey, Nilanjana Paul, Priyanka, Heenba,Jay Desai, Seema khandelwal,Dr Sneh Sunny Kathuria (Host ), Dr Harpal Singh( Host ), Vini Kalia and Nisha Shrikant Upadhyay .
This beautiful event echoed positivity, brotherhood, togetherness and unity. This was a rare opportunity that six different organizations from South Asian Countries came together to strengthen the bond of friendship.
