Over a thousand people participated in the largest Rajasthan program in Europe, ‘Ghoomar-2023,’ on Sunday, June 18, 2023, in London.
Indian expatriates danced to Chang ki Thaap and Marwari Tunes in London. Renowned Rajasthan singer Shri Sanjay Birkh Mukandgarhwale and the Rajasthani Brass Band were the main attraction of the event. With chants of “Jai Bharat” and “Jai Rajasthan” an atmosphere was created similar to that of the homeland.
Rajasthan Charitable Trust, UK, organized the Ghoomar event in Feltham, London, to spread enthusiasm among Indian expatriates. It made a commendable effort to keep the beautiful and incomparable art and culture of Rajasthan and India alive. Essentially, the aim of the Rajasthan Charitable Trust is to reach every corner of India so that no child in the country, despite financial constraints in education or ability, is deprived of the opportunity to succeed. Additionally, the trust aims to keep its invaluable culture and arts alive among the Indian expatriate community living in the UK.
Reared on their own soil, the hearts of expatriates are filled with the thoughts of their motherland, so when the Rajasthani Brass Band played melodious tunes and Sanjayji’s home-style vocals filled the air, people there could not help but tap their feet with enthusiasm.
In this Falguni atmosphere, people enjoyed the delectable Rajasthani cuisine, such as Daal Baati Churma, Garlic Chutney, Puri Sabzi, and Gulab Jamun. Nature itself seemed delighted and was coerced into swaying the warm summer environment with raindrops. In such a beautiful ambiance, the Trust arranged a magician to entertain children. The entire surrounding area was beautifully decorated with Rajasthan’s stunning handicrafts without any hesitation. Validating this grandeur, our charismatic Rajasthan volunteers and expatriate guests were present adorned in traditional Rajasthani attire.
It seemed as if London, along with nature, was intoxicated by the fragrance of Rajasthan.
