Diwali at Trafalgar Square

Sunday 3rd of November  2019 will see the iconic Trafalgar Square featuring a treasure of Indian arts, crafts, culture, food, entertainment, interactive workshops… all to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights.

This event showcases scintillating music and dance performances that encapsulates the culture of the Indian subcontinent, in the largest Diwali stage event in Europe.

The festivities begin with a journey into elegance and opulence that manifest in the Grand  Annakut Dance performance by over 220 participants for all to view. You then get a chance to partake in the vibrant and versatile Garba performance, with everybody performing to a live band. No experience is necessary and once you get the rhythm (easy-peasy), you’ll find that you can effortlessly introduce your own style into

That leads us nicely on to an entertainment galore, featuring performances by both community groups and professionals.

We also have numerous stalls distributed all over the square to make it more interactive and informative for our lovely guests.

Sari Marquee:Have you ever looked at a Sari and thought, “Wow, I’d love to try one on”? Well! here’s your opportunity. Have a sari draped around you, (by experienced sari drapers) feel the gracefulness of being in one and once you feel confident enough, join in the garba with the sari on.

Wear A Turban:Would you like to learn to wear the majestic turban as seen crowning the opulent Maharajahs of India, then head across to the Turban Marquee

Yoga Marquee:Yoga is very popular these days due to its very evident health benefits. Whether you are a first timer or whether you practise yoga regularly, there’s something in these workshops for everybody

Dance Marquee:Do you like to boogie and love trying out different dance forms? The different types of Bollywood moves are definitely for you. Why not give it a try?

Children’s Marquee:Have a little one come along and you’re thinking, “How am I going to keep him/ her entertained”? Well, do not fret! Our Children’s Marquee has several interactive and informational exercises to keep your child engaged and happy

Puppet Show:Enjoy the brand new Ramayan Puppet show.

Diwali Culture Zone:Heard a lot about Diwali and like to know more? Look no further. The Diwali culture zone has interactive games to give you a true taste of Diwali

Food & Drink:There are several options of sumptuous vegetarian Indian food and non-alcoholic beverages to buy. There are also some vegan options available.
