London Borough of Croydon welcomed Diwali 2018 with spectacular performances music dance and Dhol players organised by Croydon Hindu Council.
The Diwali Carnival mesmerized the audience with live music singers performed by members of Rhythm Group.
The colourful Dancers performed Lavani, a traditional folk dance of Maharashtra by Body & Rhythm group of Croydon led by Priyanka Kanvinde, (winner of Mrs Classic Universe in Sofia, Bulgaria) who is also a Croydonian.
Audience clapped and enjoyed and joined in every bit of dances displayed by members of Boll fusion Group.
Amongst all was a very young vocal participant Tanisha Hajra who was well received by the audience along with a thriving performance given by a teenage talent Abhishek Parashar of Croydon.
Special guest appearances made by Madam Mayor Councillor Bernadette Khan, Sarah Jones MP, Councillor Manju Shaula Hameed, International Corporate Lawyer Dhruv Chhatriya who have written 21 books and given 300 talks in the Parliament shared his words of wisdom talking about the essence of Diwali.
Food stalls by Cakes4U served sumptuous freshly made Indian Food in this festival.
Mayura Patel, Chairperson of Croydon Hindu Council compered the program fully engaging the audience throughout and said “every one awaits this iconic event of Croydon and South London year after year which is very encouraging”.
The Mela concluded with a Happy Diwali song with full community participation.
