The All-Party Parliamentary Group – Indian Traditional Sciences organised its third event on Int’l Yoga Day 2019 at the Victoria Tower Gardens with the back drop of the Palace of Westminster on Friday 21st June from 3pm to 8pm.There were 10 exhibitions of various Yoga protocols.

  1. Chanting from the Heart was sung by Nikki Slade one of the leading pioneers of natural voice work in the UK. She has taken Kirtan (a Sanskrit word meaning ‘praise/eulogy’ to describe devotional chanting involving mantras or hymns with cymbals, harmonium, Indian classical music instruments and drums, adored in Sikhism.)
  1. Public session for experiencing Joy and Wellness through Yoga a dance created by Ragasudha Vinjamuri, an associate lecturer at the University of Sunderland in London. She is a disciple of Guru Dr. Uma Ramarao and has learnt dance in Hyderabad, India. She has been performing widely and presenting Indian classical dance on several niche subjects and for environmental advocacy. Her name is entered into Limca Book of World Records 2018 in the ‘Performing Arts’ section.
  1. Power of your vibration: “Wellness through music” a vocal presentation by Elena Greandia, an International Flamenco Soprano with musical and vocal technique studies in Casa Verdi of Milan (Italy), Sofia Conservatory (Bulgaria) and classical North of India music. She has more than 15 years in the global scene, 5 albums, 3 awards endorsing her career, being able to combine several musical genres contributing to music, cultures and universal values blending and bringing people together.
  1. Yog hai Manav ko Vardhan, Bharat ki Pahchan (Yoga is a God’s gift to mankind and is the cultural identity of India) a tribute to Yoga was sung by Dr Kumud Diwan a renowned exponent of the Thumri genre of Hindustani classical music. She is a disciple of Padma Bhushan Pandit Chhannulal Mishra of Banaras. Kumud is an outstanding category artist of Ministry of Culture Government of India and an ‘A’ grade artist at All India Radio. She is the guest anchor for the very popular programme Kala Samvad for the Lok Sabha (Indian House of Commons) TV.
  1. The Chief Guest of the 5th Int’l Yoga Day specially invited to London by the APPG Indian Traditional Sciences Dr. H R Nagendra, Chancellor S-VYASA University Bengaluru, India, welcomed all participants and spoke on the virtuous of Yoga and its incorporation into daily life and praised the ‘spirit’ of All Party Parliamentary Group on Indian Traditional Sciences that is Amarjeet S Bhamra.
  1. The Guest of Honour Vishwa guru MahaMandleshwar Paramhans Sri Swami Maheshwarananda Puri ji of Panchayati Maha Nirvani Akhara from Vienna, founder of the International Srī Deep Mādhavānanda Ashram and the originator of Yoga in Daily Life System led his routine amongst the participants in the Victoria Tower Gardens and watched by many passers-by. Swamiji said that it was heartening to witness so many powerful speakers and contributors from all over the world at the APPG Indian Traditional Sciences Int’l Yoga Day 2019 at the Houses of Parliament yesterday evening (Thursday 20th June) and this morning at the Nehru Centre in London and now here in the open-air park next to the British parliament. He thanked Amarjeet S Bhamra for his relentless efforts to organise three major Yoga events being celebrated in London within the span of 24 hours.

  1. Our Special Guest Prof Dr Tanuja Nesari from the recently established All India Ayurveda Institute in New Delhi an autonomous establishment under Ministry of AYUSH Government of India. Prof Tanuja Nesari was very warm with her contribution of complementing the nature of the fabric of the APPG Indian Traditional Sciences and its essence in continually creating awareness of all Indian Traditional Sciences amongst the parliamentary and policy making community of the United Kingdom. She thanked the unceasing efforts of Amarjeet S Bhamra who left no stone unturned for her and Dr Rahul Jain AYUSH-Research Officer to be here in London during the 5th Int’l Yoga Day.
  1. Int’l Yoga Day Common Protocol was offered by Dr Manjunath who is the Director of Research and International Affairs at S-VYASA Yoga University. He has delivered lectures on evidence-based Yoga therapy and conducted workshops at prestigious institutions and Universities across the world including Harvard Medical School, USA, Monash University, Australia, Royal College of Medicine, London, Shanghai University of Sports, China, Pharma University, Italy.
  1. Yoga for Unity and Humanity talk and demonstration was offered by Srinivasa Alluri (Srini) who is the founder and President of a global charity Manavata, registered in India, UK and USA and accorded special consultative status by United Nations. 
  2. Prana:The Sacred Breath of Life session was led by Rashpal Kaur Hayre, a teacher of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, sharing the teachings for over 15 years and runs a KY studio in West London. She is honoured and privileged to share the journey in cultivating awareness, coming home to self-acceptance, remembering with each conscious breath we are all beautifully human.
  1. Antara Jyoti Uddeepana Yoga (Enlighten the light within) session was installed by 9-year-old Ishwar Sharma along with his sister Indira, who jointly promote Yoga to inspire children as well as adults.
  1. Surya Namaskar posture session was led by Neil Patel, founder of Chi Kri Yoga who has been teaching yoga in London for 29 years and has trained dozens of successful and active teachers. Remarkably he has lived with cancer without operations, medicine or any medical intervention for 19 years and credits yoga, meditation and positive thinking and God with his success so far.
  1. Prana Kriya Yoga was led by Yogi Ashokananda, who has dedicated his entire adult life in service to humanity by teaching, mentoring, writing, learning, speaking on yoga, meditation, and spirituality, across Europe, Asia and India.
  1. Yogic Postures & Meditation for Generating Harmony in Your Body and Life by Anne Heigham, a full time Ayurveda Practitioner and Yoga teacher of 12 years and loves to bring together and share her knowledge of both great sciences from India. She does this in her clinics and classes in Norfolk and Hertfordshire as well as through print media and online.
  1. Chakra Yoga and Astrology by Khushboo Mehta-Parekh, an Interior Designer by profession and a researcher on Astrology and Meditation practices by passion. She has been studying and researching about Astrology, Meditation, and Human Behaviour for the past nine years and helps people to learn about themselves through these Vedic Sciences and uses Astrology as a guiding tool for pointing the right direction in this journey of life. 
  2. Heartfulness by Alka Patel, a teacher by profession in a primary school in East London and has been a Heartfulness trainer and practitioner for 12 years. She is the Manager of Heartfulness UK headquarters meditation centre in Stratford, London, for the past three years.
  1. Integrative Yoga by Natasha Buldeo who is a renowned Integrated Health Practitioner, Human Performance Scientist, creator of i-Yoga: Interoceptive Yoga® and Founder and chief innovator of Organic Apoteke. She is a holistic physician incorporating medical physiology with a variety of allied therapeutic modalities

Amarjeet S Bhamra thanked all the participants especially foreign delegations including Dr Nagendra and Sri Swami Maheshwarananda to give us experience and joy of being part of the largest Yoga exhibition on a calm warm day in London. He acknowledged the High Commission of India and the Victoria Tower Garden authorities for their continuous support in being part of the Int’l Yoga Day in the United Kingdom.
