Nava Raipur, November 1, 2025 – Chhattisgarh, the 26th state of India, marked its 25th Foundation Day with a grand celebration on November 1, 2025. The milestone was commemorated by a series of significant announcements, including the inauguration of projects worth ₹14,260 crore, aimed at boosting infrastructure, energy, and industrial development. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who was present at the event, emphasised the government’s commitment to the state’s long-term progress and prosperity.
Chhattisgarh, formed in 2000 after bifurcation from Madhya Pradesh, has steadily evolved into an economic and industrial hub, becoming one of the leading producers of steel, power, and cement. As the state celebrates its silver jubilee, it stands at the threshold of further growth and modernization, underscored by the numerous initiatives launched on this important day.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, addressing a packed crowd in Nava Raipur, outlined the central government’s plans for Chhattisgarh’s continued growth. The ₹14,260 crore in announced projects are aimed at strengthening the state’s industrial, infrastructural, and human development sectors. The highlight of the day was the inauguration of a new, modern Chhattisgarh Assembly building, a symbol of the state’s growing political and administrative significance.

- ₹6,000 Crore for Infrastructure: Enhancing roads, bridges, and urban transport to boost connectivity, especially in rural areas.
- ₹3,000 Crore for Energy: Expanding renewable energy projects, strengthening the state’s role as a key energy hub.
- ₹2,500 Crore for Industrial Growth & Skills: Creating new industrial hubs and focusing on skill development to diversify beyond steel and cement.
- ₹1,500 Crore for Tribal Welfare: Improving healthcare, education, and infrastructure for tribal communities, including the creation of a Tribal University.
- ₹1,000 Crore for Healthcare & Education: Building new hospitals and medical colleges, while enhancing digital education access in rural areas.
- ₹1,200 Crore for Smart Cities: Transforming Raipur and Bilaspur into smart cities with better amenities and sustainable urban planning.
A significant highlight of the day’s events was the inauguration of the new Chhattisgarh Assembly building. The state-of-the-art facility, designed with modern architecture and built with sustainability in mind, symbolises the growing political and administrative stature of the state. The new Assembly building aims to ensure better governance and legislative transparency, with its high-tech amenities and eco-friendly features.
