UK health sector policymakers are being invited to attend a summit on 24 & 25 October 24 to meet with global experts in Ayurveda, the traditional healthcare system of India.
They will explore how prevention-oriented treatments from Ayurveda could help reduce the financial burden on the NHS, in particular by alleviating chronic illnesses caused by unhealthy lifestyles.
Delegates will include administrators and scientists from countries where Ayurveda has already been introduced to complement allopathic treatments.
Peer-reviewed, published clinical studies on Ayurvedic treatments will be presented, together with recommendations for further research to provide a powerful evidence base.
The conference is being organised by the Ayurveda Centre of Excellence and is supported by the All Party Parliamentary Group for Indian Traditional Sciences.
Amarjeet S Bhamra believes the time is right, with huge public interest in wellness and lifestyle approaches, for Ayurveda to play its part in assisting allopathic medicine in the UK.
“Together we can react to the unprecedented medical and financial challenges facing decision-makers, and meet the urgent requirement for solutions that work,” he says✨

  1. I sincerely hope, this initiative goes much further. I have personal experience of being cured of a debilitating condition by following Ayurvedic treatment. Western pharmaceutical companies have for long resisted our ancient medicine on filmsy grounds alleging of lead containment never mind the side effects of major allopathic medicines. They make enormous profit and still can’t guarantee remedy. UK, with its historical connections with India can bring this to forefront and promote where there’s proven track record of healing
