An evening of Tributes organised by Sanskruti Centre for Cultural Excellence

An excellent program marking Remembrance Day, UK Parliament Week, and 75 years of Indian Independence was organised by Sanskruti Centre for Cultural Excellence at the British Parliament House recently. Former Minister and Chancellor of Roehampton University Baroness Verma hosted the event at the House of Lords, attended by dignitaries and invitees from different parts of England and beyond.  Members of the Armed Forces, Freedom Fighters, Soldiers  and those who are continuing to build future ambassadors were paid tributes and acknowledged on the occasion.

Opening words were rendered by the Parliamentary Host Baroness Verma, followed by multilingual tributes to the former Head of the State Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2 in 11  different languages, by Sushil Rapatwar (Sanskrit), Shreyasi Deb Roy (Bengali), Radhika Joshi (Kannada), Manju Sunil (Malayalam), Meera Khatavkar (Marathi), Leina Zaigirdar (Meitei), Reema Virdi (Punjabi), Indu Barot (Rajasthani), Renu Gidoomal (Sindhi) and Ragasudha Vinjamuri (Telugu).   Author Dr. Manju Lodha presented her note on the Freedom Fighters of India & elucidated the contents of her book Bharat Bhagya Nirmata. Warrant Officer Balbir Nagra MBE, Honorable Minister for Tourism and Skills Development (Maharashtra) Mangal Prabhat Lodha and Chancellor of LPU Dr. Ashok Mittal have all spoken on the occasion.

Kala Samman awards were conferred to Dr. Geetha Upadhyaya OBE, Shreya Khare, Renu Gidoomal, Prabhat Rao Devarakonda, Prachi Ranade, Indu Barot, and Tejinder Sharma MBE, on behalf of Lodha Foundation and Sanskruti Centre for Cultural Excellence. The event stood out in its content and rendition.
