A comment by Yoga guru Ramdev is at the centre of a fresh controversy as, speaking at a yoga camp in Thane, he said women look good in sarees, in salwar suits and even if they wear nothing. Amruta Fadnavis, the wife of Maharashtra deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, was present at the camp. The video of Ramdev’s comment is doing the rounds on social media. Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal shared the video, condemning the comment. Ramdev should apologise for his comment insulting women, Swati Maliwal tweeted.

“Swami Ramdev’s remarks on women in front of the wife of the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra are indecent and condemnable. All women have been hurt by this statement, Baba Ramdevji should apologise to the country for this statement!” Swati Maliwal tweeted.
Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde’s son MP Shrikant Shinde was also present at the event.
Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut also commented on the issue and asked why Amnruta Fadnavis had not protested when the comment was made. “The government remains silent when the Governor makes an insulting remark on Shivaji, when Karnataka chief minister threatens to take Maharashtra villages to Karnataka and now when BJP campaigner Ramdev insults women. Has the government kept its tongue in mortgage to Delhi?” Sanjay Raut said speaking to media.
Ramdev made the comment as he was saying that many women at the event brought sarees but did not get the time to wear them because of back-to-back events. “You look good in sarees, you look good in salwar suits like Amruta ji, and you look good when like me you wear nothing…” the yoga guru said. Ramdev should apologise. For a Yogi and most admired, unless it is slip of tounge such comment public with many political figures on audience is frankly own goal. People won’t take him seriously and also for all Modiji has done to promote Yoga this comment and negative publicity could be watershed moment
people like baba ram dev should think before he makes any comments.
