Organised and led  by Cllr Pushpa Makwana,  Reenaben  Pankhania, Tarlaben Mashru, Sharda ben Joshi and Raju Bhai Pankhania the celebrations of 75 years of Republic Day with Rangoli at Mahalakshmi Mandir at  London Borough of Newham,  London  UK. We had the great opportunity and blessing from Mataji to do Rangoli at Mahalakshmi Mandir in Newham  – On Sunday 23rd January 2022 we collectively organised to do a Rangoli.

Every year, India celebrates 26 January – the day its constitution came into effect, making it a sovereign republic – with a spectacle where it shows off its military strength, technological advances and cultural diversity.

January 26th is celebrated in India every year to honour the constitution of the country which came into effect 72 years ago in 1950. It is also the day when India declared Purna Swaraj from British rule in 1930.

This day is observed with celebrations that happen in the country’s capital, New Delhi, with an incredible parade, presided over by the President of the country.

India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grandmother of tradition.

East London Ladies collectively organised and planned how we can coordinate using different Rangoli colours. It’s an amazingly great team. Using different colours gives one the opportunity to glow and transparent from a small art to a great piece of design from bottom of our heart.

In the middle present our Indian National flag,  I designed with the tricolour and painted to present Hamara Desh

The National flag of India is a horizontal tricolour of deep saffron (Kesari) at the top, white in the middle and dark green at the bottom in equal proportion. The ratio of the width of the flag to its length is two to three. In the centre of the white band is a navy-blue wheel which represents the chakra.

The saffron colour signifies the strength and courage of the country. The white colour indicates peace and truth.  The green colour shows the fertility, growth and auspiciousness of the land.

Above all, it’s a day when people of all faiths, cultures, communities and sections of the country come together to celebrate the rich history and culture of our country.

🙏🎈Happy Republic Day 🎈🙏( By:Pushpa Makwana)
