Directed by the very talented Shakun BatraGehraiyaan is a relationship drama that looks beneath the surface of complex modern relationships, adulting, letting go and taking control of ones’ life path.

The film features Deepika PadukoneSiddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday in the lead along with Dhairya KarwaNaseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapur in pivotal roles.

 

Alisha Khanna, 30, ambitious, now finds herself at a crossroads in life. Her six year long relationship has grown monotonous, her career seems to be hitting a lot of roadblocks and just when she had begun to accept this reality as unchangeable, her life is usurped by the arrival of her cousin, Tia and her fiancé, Zain, with whom she bonds over a troubled past and a common wish to break from its confines. The story charts the journey of Alisha and Zain, as they confront the ghost of their past on the path they take to avoid it.

  1. I suppose the modern films are trying hard to catch up with the Hollywood style however it lacks reflection of the common people in India. It may appeal to some privileged middle class (who by definition should lead the way to teach the rest of the population how to retain our rich culture rather than introducing a smattering of badly spoken English and unnecessary expletives) but won’t even scratch the surface of normal cinema loving Indian public. No wonder it is on this platform.
