Order of Abdulaziz Al Saud
On April 3, 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with the Order of Abdulaziz Al Saud by Saudi Arabia. Named after Abdulaziz Al Saud, founder of the modern Saudi state, the Order is awarded to citizens of Saudi Arabia and foreigners for meritorious service to the Kingdom. It is also the highest honour given by Saudi Arabia to non-Muslim personalities. The other notable recipients of the Order of Abdulaziz Al Saud are former US President Donald Trump, former UK Prime Minister David Cameron, former US President Barack Obama, former UK Prime Minister Theresa May, former US President George W Bush, President of Russia Vladimir Putin and former US President Bill Clinton, among others.
State Order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan
On June 4, 2016, PM Modi was awarded the State Order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan, the highest civilian award of Afghanistan. It has been named after Amanullah Khan, the Sovereign of the Kingdom of Afghanistan from 1919 to 1929. Other notable recipients of the award are former US President George W Bush, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Indonesian President Joko Widodo, among others.
Grand Collar of the State of Palestine
On February 10, 2018, PM Modi was awarded the Grand Collar of the State of Palestine, the highest civilian honour of Palestine. The award is given to foreign dignitaries, kings, heads of state or government and persons of similar rank by Palestine. Some notable recipients are King Salman of Saudi Arabia, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, former President of France Francois Hollande, and President of China Xi Jinping.
Champions of the Earth
On October 3, 2018, PM Modi was awarded the Champions of the Earth. It was given by United Nations Environment Programme for PM Modi’s environmental leadership on the global stage. India has pledged to eliminate all single-use plastics in the country by 2022.
Seoul Peace Prize
On October 24, 2018, PM Modi was awarded Seoul Peace Prize by South Korea. It is awarded bi-annually by South Korea for contribution to peace and harmony.
Order of Zayed
On April 4, 2019, PM Modi was awarded the Order of Zayed by the United Arab Emirates. It is the highest civilian honour of the UAE. It has been named after the first President of the UAE, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Some notable recipients are President of Russia Vladimir Putin, former US President George W Bush, former president of FIFA Sepp Blatter, President of China Xi Jinping, and Queen of the United Kingdom Elizabeth II, among others.
Order of St. Andrew
On April 12, 2019, PM Modi was awarded the Order of St. Andrew. He was the first and to date, the only Indian to receive the highest civilian honour of Russia. It was during the USSR era but was re-established as the top Russian order in 1998. Other notable recipients are former President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, the last General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev, and President of China Xi Jinping, among others.
Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin
On June 8, 2019, PM Modi was awarded the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin, the highest Maldivian honour which may be conferred upon a foreign national. Some other notable recipients of the award are Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, former President of South Korea Chun Doo-hwan, and President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, among others.
King Hamad Order of the Renaissance
On August 24, 2019, PM Modi was awarded King Hamad Order of the Renaissance (First Class), the highest honour of Bahrain to foreign dignitaries. It has been named after King Hamad, the ruler of Bahrain. Some other notable recipients of the award are Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and Hussein bin Abdullah, Crown Prince of Jordan.
Global Goalkeeper Award
On September 24, 2019, PM Modi was given Global Goalkeeper Award by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It is awarded annually by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for global leadership.
Legion of Merit
On December 21, 2020, PM Modi was awarded the Legion of Merit (Chief Commander) by the United States. It is a military award of the United States Armed Forces for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements. (News9)
