Saugandhikam Samskritam by Sanskruti Centre sparks keen interest

The recent webinar emphasising the relevance and significance of Sanskrit language has delighted the attendees and generated huge attention among the UK diaspora.  Saugandhikam Samskritam was organised by Sanskruti Centre for Cultural Excellence (UK), in association with The Nehru Centre and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, London during which speakers and presenters with varying backgrounds have wonderfully highlighted the beauty of poetic, literary and spoken Sanskrit language.

Akash Guntiwar has presented the invocation, followed by recitation by the students of Sanskrit at St James, London. Opening words are rendered by Amish Tripathi, Author and Director, The Nehru Centre. Message by Honourable Culture Minister of India Shri Prahlad Singh Patel sent for the occasion was read out by Ragasudha Vinjamuri, Founder of Sanskruti Centre.

Keynote speech was rendered by Padma Shri Chamu Krishnashastry who outlined interestingly how spoken Sanskrit can be adopted and practised as a common man’s language. Speeches by Dr Kala Acharya, Prof. Viroopaksha V Jaddipal, and Padma Shri Abhiraj Rajendra Mishra have elucidated the contemporary relevance of Sanskrit, Sanskrit as multi-dimensional knowledge system and presence of Sanskrit in Indonesia.  

After Dr MN Nandakumara of The Bhavan gave his remarks, the poetry recitation section began. Renditions by Sushil Rapatwar, Acharya Durgaprasad Pokharel and Dr Suhas Mahesh from the UK, Mrs Shiva Rajeev Shrivastava from South Africa, Kushagra Aniket from the USA, Yuvraj Bhattarai, Dr Shrinathdhar Dwivedi, Dr M Sudarshan Chiplunkar, Dr Dhananjay Mishra, Dr Rajkumar Mishra, Dr Arvind Kumar Tiwari, Dr Ramakrishna Pejathaya, Prof. Ravuri Gayatri Murali Krishna, Prof.

Satish Kumar Kapoor and Dr Tulsidas Parauha, Abirlal Gangopadhyay and Aneesh Raghavan from India have all presented their poems on varying themes.
