Popular comedians Sugandha Mishra and Dr Sanket Bhosale tied the knot on April 26 at the former’s hometown in Jalandhar, Punjab. The wedding was an intimate affair with only their families in attendance, owing to the COVID-19 restrictions. The couple, however, made sure that there was no lapse at any cost. They requested their guests to undergo the coronavirus test and carry their RT-PCR report valid till the day of the marriage.
Sanket shares, “Only those who had valid reports were invited, even though they were our immediate family members. We wanted to leave no stone unturned when it came to everyone’s safety. We created a bio-bubble at the venue and our families stayed there till the wedding was over. We did not step out of the bubble, nor was anyone from outside allowed to enter it.”
He adds, “We had to make a lot of changes in our plan. We had initially invited many guests, but had to bring down the list to just 20 people. This resulted in cancellation of tickets and re-booking them. We followed all rules and guidelines.”
A restricted guest list also resulted in a few compromises while following pre-wedding ceremonies. Sugandha shares, “We were extremely particular about following all the guidelines and norms, so we had only two dhol wallas, who doubled up for band for Sanket’s baraat. I think yeh pehli baar hua hoga ki ladka ghodi lekar aaya par band wale nahi the. Humne wohi do dhol walon se sab ceremonies mein gaana bajaana karvaaya.”
