Bollywood actors Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar started the shoot of their upcoming film Atrangi Re earlier this month.
After sharing the first glimpse of their characters from the film, Akshay on Monday shared a video on social media as he twirls with the Taj Mahal forming a picturesque background.
He is seen in the look of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal as a tribute to his wife Mumtaz.
His co-star Sara also shared a picture of him in which he can be sitting in front of the Taj Mahal with a rose in his hand. “Because it can’t get more Atrangi than this. Not Shah Jahan- Mr Kumar it is,” the actress captioned her post.
Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re, also featuring actors Dhanush and Nimrat Kaur along with Sara and Akshay, is nearing completion and the team is currently in Agra to shoot the final schedule.
Since the first week of December, the team was stationed in Delhi NCR.
Atrangi Re kicked off in Varanasi in March, but the shoot was halted abruptly following the pandemic. The team resumed shooting in Madurai in October.
The film is a cross-cultural love story and revolves around funnily weird characters played by Sara, Akshay and Dhanush. The love stories are set in two different timelines running parallel, emphasising how love is perceived differently in the North and South of India.
Sara will play her first double role in the film and Akshay, a character important to the narrative.
