World Tourism Day and Daughter’s day were befittingly observed by celebrating the female achievers and heritage sites of the state of Rajasthan recently.

Organised by Sanskruti Centre for Cultural Excellence in collaboration with Rajasthan Association UK, the virtual event titled “Ujjwal Rajasthan” included an interesting PowerPoint presentation on the monuments, palaces, people, and culture of Rajasthan presented by Shri Gangadhar Chilka, Assistant Director General (retired) in the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India who had 36 years of experience in destination marketing. Energetic and lively poetry recitation by Mrs. Manju Lodha, author of Param Veer and other books and Founder of Gyan Gangotri, highlighted the uniqueness of Rajasthan in terms of literary personalities, arts, cuisine and places. Nari Shakti awardee Mrs. Ruma Devi, an embodiment of woman empowerment and a beacon of light to thousands of women artisans, outlined the different types of needlework of Rajasthan and her own journey from hardship to glory.

Interaction of attendees with speakers unveiled more about the marketing of pottery works and the choice of topics to write on. A short video on the attractions of Rajasthan was played thereafter.

RagasudhaVote of thanks was rendered by Ragasudha Vinjamuri, Founder of Sanskruti Centre, and concluding remarks were given by Harendra Singh Jodha on behalf of Rajasthan Association UK.
