Namaste!
02 December 2019: Just 10 days to go and the battle is hotting up. PM Johnson at last appeared in Andrew Marr show well prepared for the awkward question and fared amicably. For the second time during UK general election a terrorist incident happened at London Bridge. A known convict released early and ironically attending a prisoner reform course at Fishmongers Hall decided to stab and kill the very gentleman conducting the event and his fellow female graduate both from Cambridge University. Usman Khan also wounded other three brave members of the public who tried valiantly to stop the carnage. He was alleged to be wearing a hoax bomb vest thus prompting the police to shoot him dead.
Will this change the narrative and tone of the campaign? Whilst both main leaders praised the courage of ordinary citizens and swift work by the emergency services, the wider public must think whether they can trust Labour Party for National Security. This on top of Corbyn confirming his support for the ISIS bride Shamika Begum to retain her British Citizenship and return to the UK which is at odds with what an average person thinks.
Consistently Labour have derived support from a religious group from where invariably majority of home-grown terrorists come from. Neither the current London Mayor nor some so called ‘custodian of human rights’ Labour MPs could offer genuine response after the attack on 29/11/19 always careful not to draw attention to the root cause or omitting to guide these young men from their brethren against brainwashing in case it upsets their voter base. Is this because of the comfy well being as well as social capital offered by Labour Party to this group whether for housing, religious centres, jobs in councils, easing of prison terms or turning blind eye to heinous crimes such as child grooming in return of votes?
Labour’s nationalisation, spend and high tax plans are unravelling too as indeed planting of 20 billion trees! Both parties’ economic plans as in any election campaign are ambitious. Lib-dems and Brexit Party probably have chance where remain/leave votes are more important. Brexit is main mantra for the Tories and at doorsteps campaign voters seem interested in this subject more than NHS, higher Tax and Spend plans. Clearly, they think the elected MPS during the last three years did them dis-service by not making decision and carry the people’s vote. At local hustings the main questions being asked of a Labour candidate centre around anti-semitism as well as whether he/she follows Corbyn’s left-wing policies.
The arguments will carry on till the last moment and with so many strong opinions raised from all sides it is going to be very close election.
We urge the wider community and their leaders to carefully and tactfully use their vote especially in marginal constituency and report on any electoral fraud or misinformation.
