On Saturday 13th of July 2019 the Language Classes at the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Ilford celebrated Guru Puja festival from 5.30 to 8.00 pm followed by dinner.
The evening started with lighting of the lamps and prayers lead by Pandit Awadesh Tiwari, who is also a priest at the VHP Ilford Hindu temple.
Students in coordination with their teachers, staged a short play, recited Shlokas and chanted Hanuman Chalisa and other very interesting items which the children wanted to showcase – i.e. what they learn on Saturdays when they come to the Mandir.
Certificates were awarded to the children who passed their Examination.
VHP Ilford run regular classes, on Saturdays, to Teach Hindi, Marathi, Telugu and other Indian languages. The children are also given lesson in Hindu Dharma and Samskaras.
