The 51st Haryana Day celebrations are erupting globally to celebrate the contribution of Haryana in Indian democracy, economics, sports, and arts. NRI’s and POI’s settled in the United Kingdom took this opportunity to come together as a harmonious and progressive community and hosted the event at the Indian High Commission, London. The event was supported by Indian High Commission, Haryana Association U.K., and OFBJP Haryana Chapter. The event has seen an enormously positive response in the entire Indian community and for the most part, the event was very well received altogether.
Haryana came into existence on 1st November 1966 when the state was carved out of Punjab. The name Haryana is ancient references since 12th century AD and is combinations of two Sanskrit words: “Hari” and “Ayana”, meaning the “the Abode of God”. Haryana as a state has 6 administrative divisions and 22 districts. Haryana is one of the wealthiest sectors in South Asia. Haryana is the home to one of the largest and one of the world’s oldest ancient Indus Valley Civilizations sites. Haryana is one the largest contributor to the total agriculture produce of India.
Haryana is also i the leading medal winner in all of the national and global sports events and always keeps India’s head high.
Haryana has its own unique traditional folk music, folk dances, saang and arts such as Phulkari and Shisha embroidery. Haryanavi accent, song, and dances are popular themes in across India and globally. To mark this, 51st Haryana day celebration saw a rich line up of breathtaking and a very high-quality of dance and music. The event also hosted a talk on “Beti Bachao and Beti Padaho” .
The event saw attendance by several leading personalities of the U.K. and Indian High Commission, London.
