An amount of 10,000 Euros is at the centre of a legal dispute involving actor Saif Ali Khan who has been sent a notice by the Interpol on behalf of the Bulgarian government over a hunting expedition he undertook in Romania in 2013.

The Interpol notice, which is more like a questionnaire was sent to Khan at his Bandra residence in the first week of June by the Mumbai crime branch.

The document allegedly contains a set 15 questions for the actor – all pertaining to his 2013 trip and was also sent to three other persons who accompanied him.

A Mumbai police official told Mirror, “The questionnaire has been sent to the actor and others concerned, however, we are yet to receive their statement.”

In November 2013, Khan and a party of three, via email, arranged for a hunting expedition of wild bears in the Carpathian Mountains in Sfantu Gheorghe in Romania through a Bulgarian company that specialises in procuring the requisite permits and licences for such adventures.

“The hunting allegedly by the actor was conducted between November 29, 2013, and December 2, 2013, for an amount of 24,000 Euros out of which about 14,000 Euros were paid in cash including an amount for taxidermy of the hunted animal as a trophy,” sources said.

A few days after Khan left Bulgaria, the company got in touch with him in Mumbai but was told that the money had already been transferred to the account of one Georgi Petev who, along with the company’s official, had met Khan in Bulgaria before the expedition. It is still unclear as to why the money was transferred to his account.

But, as per the information accessed by Mirror, when the company tried contacting Petev, he was not to be found. A complaint was registered with the Bulgarian authorities in 2014.

The questionnaire has been sent to the actor and others concerned, however, we are yet to receive their statement.

  1. It seems the Khans tend to get in a twist with anything to do with hunting. Of course they have the money however we never heard of any wrong doing to this level of yester year’s actors like the great Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand and the like. They maintained their dignity and character for others to take an example of. Saif Ali Khan has been in the news for the wrong kind of thing before when it was alleged he assaulted someone at a posh hotel in Mumbai.
