Yoga, curry for breakfast and how to tackle SNAKES

  • Soldiers of the Royal Anglian Regiment and the 20th Battalion of the Rajputana Rifles took part in the exercise
  • The training exercise alternates every two years between Britain and India to share each other’s expertise
  • Chefs from the Royal Anglian Regiment were instructed by local troops in the art of creating the perfect curry
  • British and Indian troops have taken part in a ‘hugely beneficial’ joint training exercise which takes place every two years alternating between countries.

This year Exercise Ajeya Warrior was held between December 1 and December 14 in the Mahajan Ranges in Rajasthanm.

British troops were shown how to make the perfect curry by their hosts while one snake expert demonstrated a method of handling reptiles that did not involve firearms.

During a period of rest soldiers from both battalions managed to play a game of cricket, although the wicket would not have passed muster at Lords.

The exercise involved the 20th Battalion of the Rajputana Rifles and the 1st Battalion of the Royal Anglian Regiment, better known as The Vikings.

The aim of the bi-annual event is to understand each other’s standards and get to know the other army’s kit and equipment.

Soldiers from both armies participated in live-fire training in mixed companies.

  1. This is shining example of two countries facing similar challenges in terms of terrorism externally as well as spread through social media by some of its radicalised subjects are sharing mutual fighting techniques and soft skills complimenting each other
