Veteran actor Vinod Khanna passes away

NEW DELHI: Veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna passed away on Thursday. He was 70. and  had been suffering from cancer.

The actor, who was sitting Bharatiya Janata Party member of the Lok Sabha from the Gurdaspur constituency in Punjab, was admitted to Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Girgaon, Mumbai, recently .

Vinod Khanna had starred in more than 100 films in a career spanning over five decades. In the 1980s, at the peak of his career, he quit films to join Osho’s ashram. At the time, Osho called himself Rajneesh.
The actor, who started off as a villain, went on to star as a leading man in dozens of films including “Mere Apne”, “Insaaf” and “Amar, Akbar, Anthony”.
